Founded in 2013 by Dr. John Thoppil, the practice focuses on delivering comprehensive obstetric services, wellness exams, weight management, and birth control, including for high-risk pregnancies. Dr. John Thoppil is an Austin Monthly Top Doc and Texas Monthly Super Doc.

Dr. Rachel Shepherd joined the team in 2016, and both physicians emphasize staying current with evidence-based treatment methods. The practice aims to build long-term relationships with patients, making River Place OB/GYN a medical home for women.
